SEWING DAY

I have just returned home from a good morning with a lovely bunch of ladies we did a lot of laughing, talking, coffee drinking, eating yummy slice and a little bit of sewing as well. We try to solve the problems of the world (although we haven`t got very far yet). We show what we have been working on or have finished in the previous week and help each other if we have problems with our sewing. We are good at hearing what we say to each other and give advice where we can on sewing or a more personal nature. It`s a fun, stress free outing with others that share the same passions without judgement or criticism. Tuesday is a day I always look forward to because I know it is going to be a good day. This is the placemat I have finished this week, It is a free pattern from the designers from Among the Gum Trees.

Baby Quilt

My DH workmate has just welcomed a new baby into their home. This is the I-Spy quilt I have made to celebrate his birth.

PEG BAG

My neighbour needed a new peg bag, she gave me her old one and asked if I could sew one the same. Here is the result and i liked so I made another one for myself.

Granddaughters Birthday

My GD turned three on Monday, she received the doll from an aunty and DH and I gave her the stroller. The waether got hotter and she said she was hot in her jeans so I made her a birthday skirt and she loved it.

A little gift

I wanted to share the picture of the little bag I have just finished. It is from the Rivendale collection minus the embroidery and just a little bigger. It is a pattern that I often use when a bag is needed because it is fast and easy to sew.

My latest work

I have just finished an afternoon tea cloth that had been sitting in my UFO box for some time. It is "Tea with Roses" from the Patchwork Apple. It was a tad small so I added another border and it is now just right.

My 4YO GD won a competition to meet the faries and attend their concert as wellas some DVDs and Cds. Here is a photo of my daughter Megan holding Brooke(nearly 3yo) and Jade (4yo)gazing awestruck at the faries. The concert was great and I am glad Jade invited me to go with them

My Stitchery from Among the Gum Trees

Hi everyone, I have had a good week of stitching and sewing. I have completed the free stitchery from Among the Gum Trees site and I must thank Judith, one of the nine designers for the lovely bag, I plan on making more and filling them with soap or choccies as Xmas gifts. I have also nearly finished an afternoon tea cloth and I will show you when it is finished. I have to make a baby quilt this week for one of DH workmates who has just become a dad to a little boy. I hope i can add the photo or i will have to visit Dawn for another lesson.

cheers for now Judy
