Santas and a cushion

This is my cushion and it was an easy pattern tofollow and turned out quite well.

Here are my Trio of Santas and the are going to look great on my table for Xmas.

I couldn`t resist the urge to make up my Santa Trio. As it has been so hot here I spent the weekend in my airconditioned sewing room and went crazy and finished them in no time. Then on Monday the next free pattern from Among the Gum Trees designers was posted and I just had to make Dawn Hay`s cushion. I decided to not go with Xmas fabrics as I wanted to have it on display all year round, I might add that I went way out in the colour selection as I had received some fat 1/8s in a swap from the HANDEMADE site forum. I now have to make more cushions for gifts as my DD wanted to take mine home with her. I told her she had to wait and I will do a cushion for her to match her bedroom.

Craft and quilt fair

These are the fat q`s I bought.

This is the patterns and bag handles I bought.

Went with some friends to the Craft and Quilt fair on Thursday and had a wonderful day, lots to see and lots to buy. If you had time there were workshops you could attend and take home what you had made, we couldn`t fit them in to our shopping schedule. We all bought heaps until we ran out of cash and were happy with our purchases. The quilt display was awesome, there are some very talented quilters out there. Sorry can`t show you any pictures as it against copyright or some thing. The management asked us to leave at 5 o clock. How rude was that? I think they wanted to go home for a sleep. We met up with some other ladies from the forum for lunch and a show and tell of what we had bought in the morning. Finally got home at about 6.30 after having to wait in peak hour traffic but the day was great and we went home tired but happy.

SEWING DAY

I have just returned home from a good morning with a lovely bunch of ladies we did a lot of laughing, talking, coffee drinking, eating yummy slice and a little bit of sewing as well. We try to solve the problems of the world (although we haven`t got very far yet). We show what we have been working on or have finished in the previous week and help each other if we have problems with our sewing. We are good at hearing what we say to each other and give advice where we can on sewing or a more personal nature. It`s a fun, stress free outing with others that share the same passions without judgement or criticism. Tuesday is a day I always look forward to because I know it is going to be a good day. This is the placemat I have finished this week, It is a free pattern from the designers from Among the Gum Trees.

Baby Quilt

My DH workmate has just welcomed a new baby into their home. This is the I-Spy quilt I have made to celebrate his birth.

My neighbour needed a new peg bag, she gave me her old one and asked if I could sew one the same. Here is the result and i liked so I made another one for myself.

Granddaughters Birthday

My GD turned three on Monday, she received the doll from an aunty and DH and I gave her the stroller. The waether got hotter and she said she was hot in her jeans so I made her a birthday skirt and she loved it.
